Ryando Smithman

When travelers say they live their lives above ground, most are referring to airplanes.

But for Colorado resident Ryando Smithman, living above ground means making a living high in the forest as a tree trimmer.

As someone accustomed to a great view, Ryando starting taking photographs of his travels for work and pleasure. Soon others began to take notice.

Soon, what started out as a hobby became a second profession. Suddenly Ryan Smith the tree trimmer had an alter ego: Ryando Smithman, photographer.

Recent travels have included Hawaii and Guatemala, as well as documenting a little-seen traditional whale hunt in the remote Faroe Islands.
