Humor has always been a great tool for handling whatever life throws our way.
For comedian Leo Flowers, laughter was a ticket to places he never saw himself going.
The Chicago native first got his taste of international travel as a child with yearly visits to see family in Belize.
As he grew bigger and stronger, football became Leo’s ticket out of the Windy City, earning a scholarship to play at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
While football injuries took their toll on Leo’s body, his mind was being expanded into the arts, most notably, acting.
Throwing caution to the wind, Leo headed west to the sunny skies of Los Angeles with nothing but dreams. He did every job imaginable while trying to make it in Hollywood. Eventually, he found his calling on the standup stage.
With time, comedy took Leo around the world performing for US troops abroad.
Comedy also led him to make another move- after meeting a female friend of another comic backstage, Leo moved to San Diego to be with her, and remains there to this day.
I recently worked with Leo on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and we had a great time. Luckily, he was willing to sit for a chat an share his Tales!
Thanks, Leo!
