When it’s time to go, it’s time to go.

For comedian/film producer Ian Harris, that moment came early in 2026, when he, his wife, and grown daughter decided to leave Hollywood for good.

With TV and film production down to it’s lowest-ever levels in LA, Ireland production booming, and a political climate in the USA not to the family’s liking, the Harris family decided the time was right to move abroad.

In the spring of 2026, they sold their Hollywood home of 20 years and moved to the picturesque seaside town of Cobh, Ireland, just outside of Cork.

I caught up with Ian in Cobh (pronounced “cove”) on a cruise ship layover. Between pints, he told me how he’s adjusting to the immigrant life, dealing with visa issues, being a homeowner in a new land, and much more.
