In January, 2020 I spent a week in Medellin, Colombia, and through a friend of a friend, I met the producer/host of a comedy show who was nice enough to give me a few minutes of stage time.
After the show I chatted with the host, Chris Cisneros, and knew right away he’d be a great podcast guest.
Chris is a Venezuelan comedian and voiceover actor who emigrated to Colombia 1-1/2 years ago due to the political and economic troubles in his homeland.
Life as an immigrant can be an adjustment anywhere, and Chris’ experience is no different.
Chris shares his trials and tribulations of starting over in a new place, what he likes and dislikes about his adopted city of Medellin, and where the future is headed in both countries.
We also talked comedy: the growth of stand-up worldwide, censorship under an oppressive government, and more!
