Chloe Kelly

Traveling as a Transition To A New Life

Never underestimate the power of travel as a force for personal change.

Change is something that Chloe Kelly finds quite familiar. Growing up in England, Chloe never felt completely comfortable, no matter how many different careers, homes, or relationships she tried on for size- a situation that led down the dark path of addiction and depression.

It wasn’t until she made the decision at 45 to transition to female, that Chloe finally began to see light at the end of the tunnel. And with her rebirth, she decided that travel was going to play a major role. She left a 25-year corporate career and started traveling solo.

Over the last few years, she’s traveled throughout Europe, Central Asia, and beyond. She currently lives in Buenos Aires while writing her travel memoir.

We chat about why travel became so important to her after transitioning, what it’s like traveling as a trans woman, and the places and experiences that have affected her the most.
