Lights! Camera! Action!
Many have gone to great lengths to chase the elusive Aurora Borealis, AKA “The Northern Lights.” And many have returned disappointed.
Some spend small fortunes to travel to remote northern climes to see the elusive display, only to miss out due to cloud cover, light pollution, or merely bad timing.
For the lucky travelers who witness the Northern Lights in person, Lisa Pattenden wants to make sure you have the photographic evidence to go with it.
Lisa is an American who has spent the last 20-plus years in the UK after a long career in the Air Force. Riding on the London Tube one day, she noticed a sign advertising a trip to Scandinavia to see the Lights. Lisa took a chance, and was instantly hooked.
While the trip forever altered Lisa’s worldview, her photos failed to do it justice. That’s when she learned there is an art to taking photos of the Borealis, and now with ever improving cellphone camera technology, our phones can do the job where they couldn’t before. And Lisa is here to teach how it’s done.
She’s now moved to the Highlands of Scotland to be closer to her beloved Lights, and even started a tour company, Light Chasing Adventures, to lead others to share in her favorite travel experience.
Thanks, for bringing us into the light, Lisa!
