We last interviewed travel writer Melissa Curtin in 2013 when she was a schoolteacher getting her Los Angeles-centric travel/lifestyle blog LaLa Scoop off the ground.

Now it’s 2025 and the site is still flying high – and so is Melissa.

Melissa expanded her website’s reach to feature all of California and beyond, she continues to travel internationally for writing assignments, and has even taken on a new gig as a travel advisor.

Not only can Melissa write a detailed article about a certain place or experience, she can help anyone get a great deal so they can visit the places themselves.

Now married and splitting her time between Palm Springs and Malibu (she dodged the fires, thank goodness), Melissa continues to live her dream of a travel-focused life. And now she can help others do the same.
