“Have songs- will travel.”
That phrase could be on Tom Mclauchlan’s business card, because it’s the Englishman’s prodigious musical talent which has helped him tour the world.
Though he was tempted in his teenage years to shred the electric axe in a prog-rock band, Tom soon saw that his tastes and talents leaned more to an acoustic, classical sound.
Tom and his trusty guitar (one of many) have crossed continents and logged countless air miles to entertain international audiences.
Of course he’s not all business on the road. Tom likes to maximize his time away by taking in whatever uniqueness a location has to offer, be it mountain hikes, kayaking, seeing ancient ruins, or simply walking city streets.
When he’s not doing solo shows and festivals, Tom lives with his wife and children in rural England and teaches guitar to students who look to follow in his footsteps as a working musician.
For a guy who loves travel and discovering new places, being paid to perform worldwide is job that hits just the right chord.
