Interacting with wild mountain gorillas in Africa is often considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most people fortunate enough to do it.
But for some, it can be a life-altering experience.
For BC native Kellie Paxian, gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda while on a six-month sabbatical from her PR job was enough to light a spark and change her life’s direction.
A trip to South Africa sealed the deal for Kellie, and she promptly decided to move to Cape Town permanently.
While her life changed directions, Kellie plugged along on her travel blog and social media. Soon, others were asking for travel advice.
Seeing an opportunity to share her knowledge and experience, Kellie started her own adventure travel company. She’s recently led various safaris around Africa, as well as boat tours in the Galapagos Islands.
