They say love is a many splendored thing.
Love can also take you to places you never would have dreamed.
David Haldane was a longtime Los Angeles Times journalist in his 50’s when he found himself divorced with grown children. Like many, he soon found himself scanning the internet looking for another shot at romance. He found it, but not where he expected.
He connected with a woman in the Philippines, and after some time dating long-distance, she made her way to LA permanently. Or so they thought.
David, like many in his profession, was downsized. It wasn’t long before the couple realized that living in his bride’s much more affordable beach city in the Philippines may not be such a bad idea.
The couple now split their time between the Philippines and Joshua Tree, CA. David recently wrote a book about his expat experience- A Tooth In My Popsicle.
